Why doesn’t it surprise me that Jamie Foxx’s ‘Blame It’ is number one on the charts like it’s glued to that position? Either way, fans love this track and it’s evident by the many times that I’ve heard it in the club and all over the radio. Coming in at number 2, of course, is Keri Hilson’s hit single ‘Turnin’ Me On’ featuring the talents of Lil Wayne and production by Polow. These two have been neck and neck for the number spot for quite some time now and the way things are looking on charts, they will continue to compete with each other head to head.
However, this week around, The Dream’s Rockin’ That Thang is rocking in at number 3 holding down that spot for as long as I can remember. Radio Killa suits the Def Jam R&B superstar perfectly. I must admit, the artist/songwriter is doing the damn thang. Mad props to the Radio Killa. T.I.’s ballad to his belated best friend is moving up on the charts. TIP just began his prison sentence, yet his hit single ‘Dead and Gone’ is peaking in at number 3 this week. The Timbaland produced track has a melodic feel to it adding to the track quite well. With JT on the hook, it’s guaranteed a certified hit.
Ne-Yo reigns in at number 5 with the smash single ‘Mad.’ Let’s be real, Ne-Yo releases hit after hit like he’s unstoppable. The track was a certified hit from the start. With the assistance of mega producers Stargate, the track adds that unique flare atop Ne-Yo’s creative lyrics. Soulja Boy does it again with this one. ‘Kiss Me through the Phone’ has made such a huge impact amongst the younger generation as of late. I said it before and I’ll say it again, Sammie is the only reason the song is as hot as it is, his talents on the hook is what’s making it a hit record on Soulja Boy’s end. ‘Kiss Me through the Phone’ peaks in at a higher number 6.
The two reigning R&B starlets are still completing head to head with their hit singles that are controlling the club scenes and radio play from the beginning. The interesting part is that Beyonce’s ‘Diva’ is further down the charts than weeks before when she was competing with Keri Hilson and Jamie Foxx for the number spot. This week, Keyshia Cole’s ‘You Complete Me,’ peaks in at number 7 hit right above Beyonce as she comes in at number 8 for this week’s standing.
Even with the absence of T.I., it is evident that Yung LA is still holding down the Grand Hustle imprint alongside Young Dro. His hit single that have been heavy in the streets for quite some time now, it was only right that they reign in at number 9 above a new comer to the top 10, Jazmine Sullivan’s interesting hit ‘Lions, Tigers, and Bears’ reigning in at number 10. This track didn’t really spark my interest, but either way the fans love it so it deserves its proper dues.
This week’s number 1 album on the charts yet again is The Dream’s sophomore album ‘Love Vs Money.’ Reigning in at number 2 and 3 is newcomer Gorilla Zoe with his sophomore album ‘Don’t Feed Da Animals’ and yet again Jamie Foxx’s ‘Intuition.’
