It seems like The LOX and New York Hip-hop is making a Re-Grand entrance to the Hip-hop world. One of Hip-hop legends Rap Group , The LOX has reveal their new EP “The Trinity”, that dropped early December 2013 and sold 8,400 copies on iTunes in its first week. Since the project is out The LOX have been doing some promo for it. The Yonkers Natives, Sheek Loch, JadaKiss and Style P made an appearance on Hot 97 Morning show to talk about the upcoming album and what’s happened with New York Rap scene.
The veteran rap group give a shout outs New York talent like, Fabolous, Troy Ave, Mack Wilds, Joey Bada$$ for holding it down for their city. In the Hot 97 Morning Show, gets a little heated when Styles P places accusations on Hot 97’s studio Program Director, Ebro Dardan is one of the reasons why New York Hip-hop has fallen.
“Y’all do play all south music though,” Styles tells Ebro. “You the program director so you gotta take in on the chin.”

Styles P goes to point out the lack of support the stations has been giving to young New York artists like Action Bronson, Troy Ave and Joey Bada$$. The LOX member also mentions that radio is not alone at fault for the lack of support. The artists, DJs, and the club share a piece of the blame for New York losing their voice in Rap music.
None the less, the talk of their album being released in 2014 is underway. Also, Jadakiss gives Beyonce her props and shout out for dropping her album “Beyonce” unexpectedly surprises her fans and breaking record number anyway manageable. The LOX only seen it fit to drop a couple of singles like “The Trinity” on iTunes then release their album in 2014.
The LOX known for their straight forward lyrics since the early 90’s gaining national exposure collaborating with then know as Sean “Puffy” Combs’ single “It All About the Benjamins” and shortly after receiving more national exposure with their multi-platinum tribute The Notorious B.I.G. “We’ll Always Love Big Poppa”. Also, dropping albums like, “Money, Power, Respect” in 1998; “We Are The Streets” in 2000 and new 2014 upcoming album “We Are The Streets 2”.
In 1999 The LOX wanted to go a different direction by establishing themselves as Hardcore Rap Artists wanting to be released from BadBoy. BadBoy known for their radio friendly dance hits, The LOX felt that joining Ruff Ryders/ Interscope label would better fit their hardcore image in which they express through their rhymes. Once the Lawyers and conference calls didn’t work to get released from BadBoy, The LOX took their career in their own has and to the streets. After much pressure and campaigning, BadBoy ultimately released the group from their contract.
Although being on hiatus, each member continued to record and releases various solo albums like Jadakiss 2009 The Last Kiss, Styles P 2011 Master of Ceremonies and Sheek Loch 2010 album Donnie G: Don Gorilla. In 2012 the trio collaborated with Wu-Tang Clan and releases the album titled Wu Block; bring two historic Hip-hop groups on an album.
